8 Ways To Get More Out Of Your Adsense Revenue

The only way your home based business is going to be successful is by marketing it, making people come to your site to buy the product and services you offer. You need traffic and in order to get that traffic your promotional efforts have to be the best.

There are websites of all kinds on the Internet that are great and have traffic. They are also using the Adsense advertising program and they have been highly disappointed with the way it has been performing and the fact that they are not seeing the kind of money they had expected by using it.

Part of the reason behind what is looked upon as less-than-spectactular service is that many of the people using Google Adsense are not utilizing everything this promotional tool has to offer. Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your Adsense account.

  • One item that works well for many sites is section targeting. This helps 'target' the 'section' of the Internet and its users that have expressed interest in the goods and services you provide and alerts them to your presence. While it may not work for you, you still need to try it.

  • Competitive niches are are great informative sites that can help promote your site to a higher-paying market base. Make sure the site is not a spam site but a high-quality promoter. A good niche site can bring in anywhere from $5 to $10 a day once you site has been discovered.

  • CTRs with 1% or less needs to removed from you site. There is still a debate over whether or not CTRs cause 'smart pricing' on your site and this in not a chance that most online businesses want to be bothered with. Turn this option off for a few weeks and see if that helps your overall Adsense income rise. If it does, then you were a victim of Google Smart Pricing.

  • Sometimes bigger is better so use larger rectangles for your advertisements wherever you are allowed. Is this spammy? Some people might think so, but an 'in your face' ad can't be ignored and you could very well generate some traffic from this approach.

  • If your advertisement says 'on-site advertiser' link attached to it, remove the link. It makes you ad look less like an ad and more like an invitation to a legitimate website. We are unsure why this makes a difference, but oviously to some people it does.

  • Try to use the same link and background color on your ad as what is on your site and avoid borders. The pages move faster and people like the uniform look.

  • Competitive ads that consistently appear on your page should be removed by using the Adsense competitive ad filter. If its not targets to your content, it has got to go.

  • Don't cheat. Clicking on your own Adsense advertisments is considered fraud and your site could very easily be banned. If you accidently click on it while navigating through a page, its okay, but multiple clicks from the same IP address will set the warning bells ringing.
